Position Description
Under general supervision, provide security for office, warehouse, and premises with respect to fire, safety, and theft. Respond to emergency situations, i.e., fire, security breech, injured personnel according to written procedures. Operate switchboard and direct incoming calls appropriately. Must demonstrate a commitment to provide superior Customer Service. Effective communication, comfortable interacting with customers and internal partners in a professional manner in person and via telephone. Professional appearance, attitude and action.
Shift: 2nd or 3rd
Hours: 3PM - 11PM (2nd) or 11PM- 7AM (3rd Shift)
Position Requirements
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to certify in American Red Cross Standard First Aid and CPR.
High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to read, understand and
follow standard practice and verbal instructions. Must handle multiple
activities simultaneously.
Basic working knowledge of the security and fire alarm systems.
Basic computer knowledge to include a basic working knowledge of
Internet and Intranet skills as needed.
Basic working knowledge of the card access computer system.
Ability to make adjustments quickly to respond to emergency situations, changes in priorities, and work hours.
Must be able to climb stairs, do extensive walking when making rounds, able to open and close trailer doors. Occasional pushing, pulling and lifting of product up to 125 lbs.
Complies with Grainger policies, guidelines and procedures as well as state and federal regulations, OSHA and Hazardous Material requirements in the storage, handling and movement of product.
Performs necessary housekeeping duties in order to maintain a clean, safe, organized work environment.
Actively participates in process improvements by utilizing Grainger's
quality system.
Operates efficiency and effectiveness directly impact on customer
satisfaction and company profitability.
MUST BE ABLE TO ROTATE DAYS OF THE WEEK AND CHANGE HOURS ON SHORT NOTICE AS NEEDED TO ENSURE AROUND THE CLOCK COVERAGE.
