00 (depending on proven work history)Job Summary of the Advanced Quality Engineer:
This position is responsible for Product Launch (BMW) Advance Quality planning duties, as defined by the corporate requirements (primarily PLUS) and applicable customer requirements.
These responsibilities are typically assigned and executed for specific launch programs.
The position reports to the Advanced Quality Manager.
Main Responsibilities of the Advanced Quality Engineer:
Develop the Past Problem Roadmap for Launch program Facilitate/participate in the Engineering development of Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) documents for assigned Launch program Facilitate/participate in the Manufacturing development of Process Flow (PF) and Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) documents for assigned Launch programs Facilitate and assure development of Design and Process Control Plans.
These shall be based on customer requirements, Characteristic Matrix, and FMEAs Facilitate and assure development of appropriate Measurement System Analysis (MSA) plan for the Launch, identify appropriate statistical tools and techniques required for assessing process capability and verify all measuring devices are included on the Control Plan and PDFSS Scorecard Ensure preparation and on-time delivery of new product launch related Customer Product Part Approval Process (PPAP) packages Ensure that launch related Customer, internal, and supplier quality corrective actions (8Ds) meet the required timing, quality, and format Ensure initial capability studies are properly performed and documented for initial builds and product changes affecting special characteristics, and that Customer and internal requirements are met (or a written customer deviation is obtained) Ensure compliance to all applicable quality Customer-specific systems and requirements Ensure IMDS compliance, where applicable Attend all System Simultaneous Development Team meetings and provide required quality documents per programing timing Facilitate/participate in Engineering Design Reviews of specifications and drawings related to the system and develop the Characteristic Matrix Assist/support Supplier Quality Engineer, as needed, including supplier selection, kick-off meetings, and process signoffs Support DV/PV builds and verify that parts meet dimensional and functional requirements Ensure the appropriate inspection plans and containment plans are developed for launch Lead Internal Audits, report audit finding and ensure timely close out Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor Common Requirements of the Advanced Quality Engineer:

Education :
Bachelor degree in Quality, Engineering, or Science related field with 5-7 years of related work experience American Society of Quality certification, such as current CQE status, highly desirable Work Experience :
Proven BMW launch experience Experience with ISO/QS/TS Quality Systems is required.
Lead Auditor certification is highly desirable Experience in Advanced Quality Planning including strong proficiency with the AIAG Advanced Quality Planning and Control Plan, FMEAs, PPAPs, MSA, and Statistical Process (SPC) standards Experience working directly with customers and suppliers, particularly automotive required - specifically experience with BMW launch Qualifications needed for the Advanced Quality Engineer:
Knowledge of statistical concepts, design of experiments, and problem-solving methodology is required.
Six Sigma certification or equivalent experience is required.
Black Belt certification and experience with Minitab software is highly desirable Knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing methods is highly desirable Proficient in use of a computer and common office software (i.
e.
, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to work in a self-directed environment Good mechanical/technical skills and ability to read engineering drawings are desirable.
GD&T proficiency is highly desirable Excellent problem-solving skills, including experience preparing problem solving documents such as 8Ds A successful candidate will be subject to a background check and must receive satisfactory results of the same, as a condition of joining the team.
